Calypso quickly stopped. Trying not to go infront of her Alpha she shifted to her side when she stopped. Her breathing controled, slowed down quickly. When doing that would give some wolves a heart attack. She giggled inside herself. She looked at the dens. Her's was dirty, and open. Not closed in a warm. Calypso knew it would be hard starting here, but she had to perservere. She looked up to the sky and it was already darkening. And she was emotionally tired from all the excitement. Calypso looked around, and smelt the air. She looked at Thanatos as if questioning if he wanted her to do. She sat on he rhaunches again and waited for the other pack member. She said gracefully again, front legs pressed together again.

Thanatos almost felt bad for the dame next to him. She was going to hate her den. But if she can deal with it without complaint... he thought. She'll prove her strength to the pack. Thanatos turned and nudged her shoulder with his nose. It was a playful gesture. He was welcoming her, but he was still a king. The male's gaze traveled back to the dens searching for something or someone. He hadn't seen Andarial in what felt like the longest time. He trusted the bitch-wolf completely. He'd been her alpha for quite a while now.
He stretched his hind legs and slowly padded forward. "Come." It was odd really. That's all he had to say for any member of his pack to follow him. Sometimes, even that single word wasn't needed. Thanatos wasn't naturally an asshole, but the respect he demanded made him come across as very self-assured. A smile almost crossed his features. He'd never give away an emotion like that, but he felt it on the inside. Now where was that other dame he held captive?

Calypso still looked at the dens and all around. Here's goes. She thought and smiled inside. She touched his shoulder and smiled, ending it at that. He was already opening up to her, more than a king really needed and that, for the first time, made her feel like she was actually worth something.
Strange, she knew but it was odd to her. Thanatos by her, simply brightened her world. And of course, she liked it. She laid on the ground and rubbed on the grass. It had it's scent and she stood up again. "Would you like me to hunt for you tonight, Thanatos." Her voice was melodic, like a song was being sung and it rung through the air. Sometimes when she spoke she startled herself with the sound.

Thanatos watched the newest femme. He couldn't get close to her any time soon, but he could be cordial right? She was beautiful and something about her made most of the people around smile. Maybe the fact that she was naive, maybe something else, but it was there. He surveyed the area. Always on constant alert, always watching; he was an alpha, a damn good one. She spoke again and he had to stiffle a laugh. She was definitely not from here.
"There's a kill from early this morning just over that rise." He pointed with his muzzle to the crest of the hill most of the dens were on. On the other side was what was left of this mornin's kill. "Can you hunt? Yes. But, with me, not for me." Where is she from? he thought. Maybe she'd just been a loner for so long... Again, he wondered what her hunting skills were like.

Calypso grinned. She looked from the corner of her eye and grinned to herself again. "Ok." She said bubbly and happily. She looked over the grass, her tail swaying from side to side on the grass. If she did it any harder, she'd get grass stains!
Then, once again which seemed like the thousandth time, she realized how powerful and handsome he was. She could sense in him, deep down, that he was sweet and loving, she just had to touch his heart and earn his trust.
She smiled when he spoke. He wanted to go with her? In her old pack it was curteosy to hunt for the Alpha and Alphess. Whoa. She thought. That's a change, a good one. . "We could wait for the other wolf coming. And set out in the morning? Whatever you wish, I am up for it.!"

"It is my wish to wait for Andarial. She'll show up around here eventually," he looked back and winked at Calypso. The other dame would be around soon...he hoped. He was at his favorite place now: high above his pack on a hillside. The scent of this morning's kill was a perfume in his nares. His body flopped to the ground, stirring up the dirt. A sigh was emitted from his maw as he left his legs splayed in the way he had landed. It was good to be king.
Almost as soon as he was down, he was asleep. What else was there to do when waiting on a wayward bitch to finally show up. It was dark, and nothing was going to happen tonight. Of course, he didn't sleep deeply enough that something would be able to sneak up on him, but he dreamed. Every now and again, he would twitch. It was going to be a long night...

Calypso smiled widely as he winked and said " Certainly". Come on fae, honestly, I am patient but respond! She lightly shook her coat and looked around still. She didn't have to lift her head to smell the kill. Of course she wanted to eat but she wasn't starving.
Thanatos laid down and she waited still. She looked around, now feeling the responsibility to watch her Alpha's back. She got up and placed her nose to the ground. She didn't wander far from him, only a few meters to get glimpses at different things as she watched around the hillside.

Thanatos came closer to conciousness about an hour later. Andarial still hadn't shown up. He made a mental note to severely reprimand her for her actions when he saw her again. If one had been watching, one would never have known that so many things were going through the alpha's mind. He appeared to still be deep in slumber. It was only a front though. Something to put off pups in the spring. A thought suddenly came to him. He had yet to choose a female to carry his pups.
Quickly, he dispelled the thought. Thanatos didn't have a dame in mind just yet. Suddenly, he spoke. "You may eat." It was the only thing he needed to say. Calypso was a loner. There was very little chance that she wasn't hungry. He hoped he didn't startle the dame too much. Afterall, he was supposed to be asleep. Finally, he raised his head. "Do not be afraid. Nothing will harm you here." Thanatos smiled. "I'll keep watch. Please..." He sweeped his tail around to indicated she make herself at home.

Calypso was laying infront of her Alpha, looking out over the land she had once intruded. Stupid, Stupid, me! Her head whipped around when Thanatos spoke and she had that sweet, irresistable smile on her face.
She nodded. She wasn't really hungry, but would eat to satisfy him. She slowly got up and walked to the carcas. (You meant the old Carcas right? Sorry If I am wrong!) she stood over it and ripped off a little piece for herself. She turned to Thanatos. "Do you want some?"
She waited while she took a small bite out of her meal. she could finish this no problem, she had to eat to keep herself going right?

Thanatos got that gut wrenching feeling of butterflies in his stomach. He probably wouldn't be eating for a few days. Calypso was like a siren. The way she acted was just too cute. Thanatos couldn't help but follow her frame with his eyes as she turned and walked away. It was summer, he should be...no, no. Thanatos refused to think about it. He took a deep breath and surveyed the area. A light breeze had picked up. The wind ruffled his fur to just the perfect fluffiness of the wild. He sneezed. It was the same night after night. There was very little to do.
He heard a voice and turned to look at his guest. "No, thank you," he murmured. "I'm not hungry..." He stood and stretched. The night was going to go on. A howl came from the distance. Aster's territory, it sounded like. Thanatos smiled. There didn't have to be only a single pack per hundred or so miles here. Prey was plentiful. Slowly, diliberately, he threw back his head and howled. The moon was high in the sky, now. The mournful cry was the most beautiful thing one could hear. A wolf's howl was the only sound that could be defined as eerie, terrifying, mournful, and beautiful all at the same time. With his tail, he invited Calypso to join him.

Calypso smiled and nodded at his rejection to food. She wholfed back her small chunk of meat and padded up to Thanatos. She sat on her haunches, sitting as she had done before, legs straight.
She slowly threw her head back, gaining more speed as it went. A melodic, beautiful howl erupted from her throat, carrying off into the distance and slowly flyig away. Then it came again, a little more low, yet wonderful too. she wondered how long Thanatos had been here without company. Well, onlt the other wolf who had never shown up.
She howled once more before eyeing his frame once more and laying down to lick her paws and her back. When she was her paw slightly slipped and tpouched Thanatos lightly on his paw before quickly moving it back. [/color]

Thanatos listened as his howl carried for miles around. Low, mournful, the most beautiful sound the planet can carry. Suddenly, another sound could be heard. The dame, the siren, the beautiful Calypso joined in harmony. Thanatos pulled his head down immediately and looked at her. Her sound was completely breathtaking. He couldn't help himself but smile and join her, taking the lower staff of their song. It made his heart flutter in joy. This was the beauty of being a wolf.
She pulled her head from the sky as her beautiful sound ceased. Thanatos didn't have the heart to continue without Calypso's voice. The alpha's eyes followed her movements. She was inviting him. Ok, maybe not, but in his testosterone filled head, the femme was giving an open invitation for his touch. Thanatos was not going to let her down. Just as she pulled her paw from him, he leaned over her and licked her back. It was a carress, there was no doubt. Maybe it was his loneliness, maybe it was something else, but Thanatos wanted to feel the female's small frame against his own. With a smile, he confidently laid next to her, using her shoulders as his pillow.

Calypso out of the corner of her eye saw him stop. Why was that? Because she had? Her mind drifted... Their song, beautiful and unique, beautiful too and she smiled to herself. Then her foot had slipped and she looked at his paws.
Her orbs looked into his eyes as he decided what to do and licked her back. she laid down and he put his head on her shoulders. She was absolutely fine with this and smiled. She cocked her head around and groomed his neck and upper back.
She was happy she had come here. It was beautiful, and Thanatos was kind to her. Did she like him? Her mother had be an Alphess, it kind of ran in her blood. But unfortunatly reality came back in and told her not to jump to hasty decisions.
His fur was soon spotless and she stopped and just laid her head down on the mulch and dirt. Her white albino skull strking against the brown ground. Though Thanatos almost camaflouged. She smiled and just watched as the stars twinkled, enjoying his presense.
