Calypso walked into the lands, her brown and green eyes looked over the land. She liked it, and she smelt no one else but an Alpha. She threw back her head gracefully and howled, calling for him in the large lands. She followed the scent trying to find him, her white ears pricked forward.

A great black and brown wolf wandered his moorland alone. He didn't have to have to have the solitude. It would've been quite simple to bark out an order and have someone follow him around through his terra, but Thanatos welcomed his 'me-time' like the plant life welcomed the first rains after a drought. He was content to wander in no particular direction. Every now and again, he would come across a small herd of deer and smile. The long-legged animals wouldn't start or spook as the brute walked by for they knew he wasn't hunting.
He knew how to let the animals know he meant no harm. Mostly, he just had to be in the open. Wolves generally stayed out of sight when hunting, so when in the open, animals knew he meant no harm. It wasn't as if wolves had a predator. Ahh...the top of the food chain, what an amazing place to be. His 'check-ups' showed that the prey in the lands was strong. There would be little reason to fish during this summer. A warm breeze ruffled his fur, and he found himself invigorated.
A sound entered his ears. The brute stopped all motion. Everything went stock-still. It wasn't a howl he recognised, and it was directed at him. Well, he was the alpha. Who else would a introductory howl be to? Mentally, Thanatos shook himself. The fur on his back bristled and his tail erected. The howl belonged to a wolf he'd never met. Female by the sound of it and tired. She'd traveled quite a ways aparently. He sighed and turned toward the sound and took off at a sprint. She sounded close enough to be within his boarders already, and that, he would not tolerate.
His land flashed by him. Only paying attention to what could get him killed, which was little in these lands, he was fairly focussed on his quarry. During his run, his own head was thrown back and a howl was emitted from deep within his chest. His warning would be heard for miles around. Any of his pack would know to come to his side immediately, and the intruder would know to stop now or become buzzard food. A moment later she came into view as Thanatos pulled to a sliding stop directly in front of the white femme.
He needed say nothing. She would give lyrics, and he would reply. The warning in his howl and now in his eyes would be enough to have her start the conversation. His hackles were still raised and his ears were back. Thanatos was by far not the wolf to mess with. Crossing into his lands without asking was something that throroughly pissed the dog off. She would regret that decision.

Calypso sniffed around the borders, only venturing in a bit. she had always been curious and that sometimes got her into trouble. A warning howl was emitted from deep inside the Alpha she could hear.
She stopped, her tailwent straight and her ears pinned against her skull. She didn't bare her teeth though. That cold only cause trouble. She scolded herself. why oh Why must I get carried away? She stood frozed on spot, decding what to do.
The brute came into focus as Calypso backed a bit. She layed on the ground, a clear sign of submission, and lack of agression. Slowly she stood, her eyes watching everywhere, everything in her alert now. She dipped her head and continued to bow. Slowly she stood again.
"I am Calypso. Sir. I was not meaning harm, I apologize, deeply." She looked down and waited for his harsh actions or judgements. Hopefully just words. She then sat on her haunches, looking down.

Why does she have to be kinda cute!? he thought. He literally wanted to kick himself. It was obvious that she didn't mean any harm, and she was showing the respect he, as alpha, was due. She was grovelling at his feet for crying out loud. Yes, she was stupid and had crossed the scent markers, and that was a serious crime in the eyes of a wolf. But, she wasn't doing anything that most females did. She wasn't snarling at him, or threatening him in any way. He couldn't see anything wrong other than that she had crossed his boarder.
Slowly, very slowly, his hackles relaxed, the fur on his back smoothing to a normal gloss. He took a good look at the dame before him. Strong legs and a beautiful white pelt. Very feminine face and muzzle. Inwardly, the dog sighed. She had this twist of innocence to her that made it quite difficult to stay angry. Disgusted in himself for being such a pushover, he relaxed. There was no scent on her but her own and there was no scent on the winds he didn't recognise.
"It is unwise to venture into another's territory without permission..." his words were low and forboding. The lyrics would've sent a shiver down a youngling's spine. His head came up and his chest puffed out: the perfect picture of domination. "If not harm, female," he would not say her name yet. That was something she must earn in his eyes. "What were you meaning, barging into my terrain like that?"

Calypso, still sitting on her haunches and looked at him before he spoke. He was handsome. No, she thought, not the time for that! But she looked at him again that way. Strong, confident. That's what I like. Darn! I am doing it again! Focus Calypso!
He seemed less tense and you could notice, all her muscules in her shoulders, her legs, and her chest seemed to drop to relief. She held her self composed, both legs touching each other, tight together, reaching straight down to the green grass.
Her back arched in a feminie way. Her ears pricked at the sounds of scuffling around her. Her eyes loving and caring, but also strong and confident and alert at the same time.
Then he spoke, deep and stern. She lowered her head. "I know it was. And I am sorry." She couldn't shake the feeling of punishment that tickled her gut. She tried to shake herself inside, to get the horrible feeling outof her stomach but couldn't and she fought it. Again he spoke and she told the cold, hard truth.
"Well, I was actually looking for a pack to join. I left my old pack to set out in search for a new one. Obviously we both see that I did that the wrong way."

Thanatos found himself looking at her again. Her bodice looked as if she'd been made for the hunt. She was probably a decent fighter, but he wasn't paying attention to that just now. He was imagining her hunting prowess. It was probably quite a force. Well, if she'd been trained to hunt anyway. She was well suited for the job. Lithe, flexible, agile... Thanatos blinked. She was speaking again. A smile crossed his features. She was ashamed and embarrassed by her stupidity. That was new. Few wolves would admit thier mistake and show their embarrasment.
"I do not see that you went about it in the wrong way," Thanatos was a king again. His tone and lyrics showed no displeasure in her, but he was still one to be respected. His entire presense commanded absolute obedience. She was definitely getting the better side of him. "You merely took a few steps too many. As for a pack to join, what did you have in mind?"

Calypso listened to his words, ears forward as if not hearing what he said. she composed herself and grinned even more now. She was destined to be here, well it felt like it anyway. Weither she'd be an Alphess or not, if she stayed here, she'd be forever loyal.
That was a big commitment, she knew, but she could do it. Would do it. "I agree." She had said to him about her faults. Then she finally caught in her ears, the last part of his sentence. "Your's. Faithful and Loyal will I forever be." She said happily and confidently.
Some would think confidence was merely rudeness sometimes. Calypso's confidence wasn't. It merely stated she was sure of what she said. And she was, and had been when she said what she just did.
But of course her mind flashed to him again. His features, his build, his speech, how he held himself. That sweet smile that almost told a million stories. All wonderful she thought.

Thanatos was pulled up short. He was used to going in a roundabout way when a stranger joined his pack. Usually, he had to force the submission out of someone. Or he had to make it so that they wouldn't dare cross him, and over time, love and friendship would replace the original mistrust and fear. This female was promising much more than some packborn wolves would. She was basically giving him her soul on a silver platter. What was he supposed to do?
Accepting her on the spot and trusting her was absolutely out of the question. He'd been an alpha long enough to know that you don't trust a stranger immediately. At the same time, he'd lived long enough to know that he could trust this particular female. She was innocent and she believed she was doing right. For that alone, he knew she wasn't going to stab him in the back.
"It is my decision to make whether or not you are worthy of being a member of the pack. You are welcome to join us until the next full moon. Then, and not a moment before, I shall pass judgement. If I decide you are worthy, you will eventually have to prove yourself." His tone was comanding and stern. His gaze, daggers against her white pelt. He closed the distance between them and towered over her, showing that he was dominant and that she had no choice at this point. "You have given your loyalty to me and to the Wind Pack. I am your alpha. You will treat me as such. My name is Thanatos. Do not forget it."
Quickly, he rubbed his pelt along her's, making sure to get the scent of the pack into her fur. A smile lit his features. The grin was only to show Calypso that she was not to be afraid of him. Yes, he was domineering, but he had a heart. A big heart at that. The smile disappeared and was replaced with his usual stern, kingly expression. "Come." He turned on a heel and walked through his relm back to the dens. Thanatos did not have to look back to make sure she followed his command. He knew she would.

She waied patiently for his response. And when she got it, she understood clearly. "I will never let you down. I will try my absolute best." She was honest and truthful in her words. She cleary understood his uncertainty. A weird fae turning up on his land, granting her life and not killing her for trespassing.
Yes, his judgement made sense and it was absolutely fair. She looked up at him, lowering herself a bit, showing clearly more submission. This was all she wanted. A chance. "I will be loyal and true. Follow your commands and back you up in all decisions. My life will be used to protect your's. Ill never forget it."
She tried to hold in her smile as his scent became her's. Her eyes lit up, she was now his unless he judged not. His smile was comforting. In all her life she would never forget, that one of a kind, smile.
She obediantly got up and followed behind him. Not ever stepping ahead of his tail. She looked around the land, taking in the sights and smells. The flocks of bird's in the grass. The herds of deer grazing. The place was simply wonderful. Quickly dens came into view and she smiled. As they walked, the wind blew his scent into her nose.

Thanatos looked over his shoulder at her. The male didn't have to watch where his paws were stepping. This was his terra. There wasn't a stone he didn't know. There wasn't a tree he hadn't seen time and again. "Your life first belongs to the pack. You are to protect pups at all costs. As your alpha, I have certain responsibilities. One of those is to keep you safe. I will protect my pack with my life. For now, you shall be a guest among the family. Do not expect a high rank."
His gaze went back to what was ahead of him, stopping the conversation completely. He wished for silence and a flick of his tail was more than enough to tell the femme that. Just in case she didn't get the idea, he changed speed. Pushing the accelerator was easy until you ran out of gas. In a way, Thanatos was testing the dame behind him. How long could she keep a run. Her body said Calypso could run quite a distance. He added more speed. A few minutes later, he could see the dens.

Calypso listened to his words carefully. Repeating them in her head. She didn't speak, there was no need, and he wanted silence, that was clear. She still ran behind him, keeping the same pace, no panting, her agile legs moving to a beat.
Her feet placed on the ground one after another as the ran with Thanatos. She was still taking in his smell, now her's. She was determined to work her way up the social ladder, no matter how far she got, it would be better than a guest!
The dens came into clearer view. She kept the same pace, agile paws moving infront of her pointed nose. Muscles in her shoulder's moved back and forth as she ran. Agility had always come easy to Calypso. She ran all the time. In her old pack, she used to just run because it made her feel better. She would scower her parent's land for hours. Like she wished to here.

Thanatos was actually content with the new arrival to his lands. She was beautiful, smart, young. He couldn't help it. And she was well...a she. Suddenly he pulled up. A subtle flick of his tail had been her only warning for his intention to stop. He gave her about a second and a half to regain her composure before speaking. "You will sleep there." He pointed with his muzzle to a den near his own. It was surrounded with most of the pack. The den had a name among the pack. It wasn't nice.
Afterall, it's locale was in the middle of the pack dens. He gave this den to all guests and even some prisoners. If she decided to leave sometime during the night, someone would notice. Eventually, she'd earn her place among the pack. He looked at her again. "Welcome to my home." Silently, he padded forward, letting out a bark of greeting. His pack was going to meet the newbie now, before anything else was done.
[/color] This thread is finished. =D It shall be continued in the wind pack's dens.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
