The Sky

As Ghost padded on through the forest taking time to enjoy the sweet scents.He wanted to go to the waterfall but wanted to go back to the pack to tell them to patrol the borders while he's gone.Lone wolves usually attack when he's gone so he strolled back towards the pack.While he pasdded slowly he felt a presence near by,he tried to ignore it but it kept coming back.Then the wind howled and it carried words through it "come to the mountains" it whispered.

Aster had been padding through the forest, taking a break from her growing pack. So far they were looking good and that pleased Aster to no end. Tala was still young but Aster could see her proving herself to be an excellent scout and the other male she wasn't sure about yet.

Aster's tongue lolled as she padded slowly, enjoying the feeling of the sun's last dying warmth in her deep, gray fur. She wasn't paying much attention until she realized that she was very close to another wolf. He was male and he could not have been very far away. Aster quickly flattened her ears and narrowed her eyes, her tail swishing angrily a few times as she mentally cursed herself for not being more careful. If she had not caught it and stumbled alone into the paws of another wolf who was not so kind, their wolf be a fight. Aster would fight until she won, or she died. More than likely she would have won, though. How else did you become alphess at only two years of age?

Deciding that she needed to find out why the other wolf was here, Aster sat back on her heels and lifted her nose, letting out a long, eerie howl that seemed to echo through the forest, only intensified by the dying light and the shadows cast by the almost gone sun. With the single howl, Aster had let the other male know that she meant no harm and wanted to meet him, inviting him to come to her.

Ghost turned around,his fur rising with excitement but he was irritated.He ran towards were the howl came from.His ears were perked and his paws itched to fight if it was an intruder.He sniffed the air and smelled.It was a female wolf almost his age and she wasnt far away.Once he was in eye range he stopped his tail swishing back and forth he had felt the strength building up in his mussles.He lifted up his head and howled.Everything seemed to stop there was no wind and the prey had gone hiding in their tiny burrows.He hoped this would help him relax and feel at ease.

Aster was slightly peeved that the other male seemed to be making himself at home in her territory, almost as if she was the one who was the intruder.
However she forced herself to relax and first find out what he wanted before she became defensive.

She was annoyed that he expected her to come to him but did not show it, keeping her fur lying flat. She did not bother hiding the annoyed flick of her ears though as she padded in the direction he had come from. Whether this would end well or not, she did not know. Right now she did not altogether care either.

Aster padded until she was nearly twenty feet away from the other wolf and stopped, her eyes narrowing slightly before she again became neutral. "Hello wolf." She greeted the male. "What brings you to my territory?" She asked, her tail was relaxed, her ears stiff, and her eyes sharp. She was an alphess and knew it, she would take no crap from anyone else.

"Hi there" he said as he watched her carefully."I come to look for a pack that needs an alpha."he looked at her knowing she was an alphess and not wanting to upset her."I think this pack could use an alpha"he said carefully.He was not in the mood to be talking.His tail twitched from side to side impatiently.He really needed to get going and he saw the alphess was the same way."My names Ghost whats yours?"he asked hoping she was not angry.

Aster relaxed slightly. He was young, just as she was.
"We do need an alpha, but what makes you think that you are fit for the job?" She asked, her eyes narrowing. She was playing with him, just having fun, but she was curious to what he would say.
"I am Aster." She looked back at him once before turning around and heading back towards the direction of camp, fully expecting him to follow her.
She wasn't all together positive what to do about him. He sounded like he had high ranking upbringing so she assumed that he was probably the son of an alpha. She was curious to where he had come from though. Another question for another time, she mused.

He followed behind her quietly.He didnt know what she was going to do with him.She looked pretty but didnt get his hopes up.He watched as she was padding ahead and ran up to her "where are you going?" he asked curiously.His curiousity was exceding him,he needed to stay on his feet in case she attacked.

"Shall we go check out your new pack?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. She wasn't meaning to be so blunt but things in the pack lately had not been going so good and she was stressed. A new wolf, not to mention a new alpha, would probably help that much.
"Now, what about my earlier question?" She asked again, referring to the one where he thought that he was fit for the job.

Ghost padded up next to her."I know i am"he replied determined.He wasnt sure to go check out the pack yet."Can we make a stop first,at the waterfalls i heard there are lots of fish gathering there today and id hate not to bring the pack back some fish." he asked turning towards her.Before she replied he started to pad off in the direction of the falls.He was excited to be the alpha of a pack but also missed his freedom of the lone wolf part of his life.
