With the younger wolf so much at ease, Aster could not help but to relax as well and let her ears and eyes drift, not really paying too much attention to her surroundings as she listened to Tala speak. Tala was not quite a puppy, but Aster could still detect the younger mentality of a puppy and could not help but be thankful for it. Alone, or around older wolves, Aster sometimes forgot that she could also relax and have fun, not always trying to prove to others that just because she had barely reached adulthood didn't mean that she wasn't a fit alphess.
Aster found herself vaguely horrified, but interested all the same at Tala's past. "Two, now three different alpha's and still so young." She mused. No way could that have been a good life for a pup growing up. "Well you will not have to worry about that here." Aster spoke strongly. She hated packs that were ruled by fear and hatred. It was a type of leadership, but whether it was good or not was another matter.
Padding forward, Aster slipped into the thick brambles where the dens were. Her own den was a little further away, but here was where all the wolves of her pack slept. Since she had not been here long, they were little more then thick brambles. She figured she would leave it to the occupier to create their den to however they saw fit. "Well, here are the dens." She said, sitting down and looking around.

Tala nodded far more seriously than she had been, "I've managed." She replied quietly to her new alphess. "Makes a wolf stronger, I guess." Yes, strength had to have something to do with the hardships a wolf was forced to endure throughout their life. She had survived the reign of a cruel wolf, she had survived on her own for nearly a month. Though that was terribly not fun, since rabbits were not nice to hunt at all. Some how they always managed to out smart the young wolf.
"That is good to hear." Tala replied with a light smile when the alphess had commented on her not having to worry any more. She had to admit, that such words were beyond good to hear. She did not like living under the rule of a cruel and heartless alpha. That gave her reasons not to even want to join a pack, or even fearing to join one, but she was not the best hunter in the world. Things had come down to risk joining a pack or risk starving.
The young wolf wagged her tail when Aster spoke of where the dens were, and her tail quickly dropped when she saw that there wasn't even one for that matter. Tala gave her alphess a side glance, noting that she had to be new to her position and her pack was still forming. She did not mind this herself, and her tail quickly started wagging again at the thought of having first pick of the grounds. "Ooo... goodie." Tala could not help herself from saying, before she took a moment to pad around severing the grounds and eye balling a possible den site. The young wolf, nodded toward Aster after several moments of sniffing and looking. "I like the ground right here." She proclaimed sitting down near a particularly nasty looking bramble bush. "Has good cover." Tala stated with another wag of her tail.
OOC: Sorry for the wait, Aster

Aster was getting more and more pleased the more she got to know Tala. True, the young feme had been through a lot, but Aster could see that it seemed to have made Tala stronger instead of weaken her as it would have most less ambitious wolves. Aster sniffed the ground that Tala had picked. "Nice pick. Want to go find some bedding and then hunt before we call it a night?" She asked with full intention of helping Tala find bedding. Aster still needed to find some herself. Her own den was still cold and bear and could use at least a couple of leaves or something. She wasn't going as far as moss and feathers; that was for she-wolves who were expecting. But it was nearing the end of summer and a chilly breeze had set in and Tala had no pack mates to keep her warm and Aster had to alpha male to keep her warm. Some leaves sounded good she though. Aster was pretty sure that she knew where some good leaves that were not damp were. But they were a little deeper into the forest and would require a bit of a walk. "By the way, I think you will be our first scout." She said, quickly coming to a decision. The other possibility was hunter, but Tala had already said she had difficulties with that. Perhaps later she could switch though, maybe even later becoming Beta. _____________ OOC: Thats fine chica. Same here.

Tala nodded several times toward Aster. "I think that would be best." She replied quietly, her tail wagging gently. Yes, some soft, warm bedding would be nice, but currently she did not have the den to place such in. The young wolf glanced at the ground before her. She was really in no mood to dig a hole at this hour and she could not deny how hungry she was. "I'll try my best hunting," Tala said after a moment. "Just hope I don't trip over my big feet." Her feet had always been a bit over sized for her body and more than once had she tripped over them and smashed her nose.
The young wolf stretched then came to her feet ready to follow her alphess. "I'm a scout?" She repeated giving Aster a puppyish look. "Me a scout? What would I do as a scout?" Tala asked cheerfully wagging her tail as she spoke. Her puppy like curiosity taking over again.

"Hmmm." Aster thought for a moment the best way of explaining a scout. "Most likely you will mainly be doing border patrols and making sure others stay out of our territories and you and other scouts may take turns sitting watch depending on how much outside threat we have." It was also the scouts job to warn of any danger whatsoever, no matter what anyone was doing, and also to explore the lands and report back to the alpha's with information on good prey spots, plus more things that may be useful to the pack.
"We will go hunting together and I will see what you know and see if you can't get a few pointers." Aster said, friendly. She wasn't expecting too much and was perfectly fine with hunting for two wolves. If it was more than that however, she may start having a problem. Aster took back in the direction outside of the camp. "Where do you think we would have the best prey?" She asked, curious to how much Tala knew about the territory or hunting in general.

Tala nodded, her tail still wagging softly side to side as her alphess spoke of the jobs she would be doing and what not. It all sounded very exciting to her, and rather important. Important was good, really not something the young wolf had expected after surviving in the pack she did for those months but things were different here. Things were as they use to be all those months ago when she was just a pup, when she was just able to wander out of her den for the first time. "Sounds like fun." The young wolf could not help but say.
When quested about where the best prey would be, Tala hummed aloud in thought. She tried to think back to what little training she had been given and what she had learned when she was alone. "Um... I would think some tall grass might be a good place to look, always seems to be some rabbits among them." The young wolf answered finally with an unsure tone in her voice.
